CANDLES

CANDLE WAX: Our candles are made with natural coconut wax. Coconut wax is made from the cold-pressed oil of coconuts, making it a renewable and sustainable resource. It’s known for its clean burn and excellent scent throw. Coconut wax burns slowly, which means your candle will last longer. It’s also an excellent carrier for fragrance, allowing for a strong and consistent scent.

CLEAN BURNING FRAGRANCE:  We make our candles with CLEAN SCENTS. We source the fragrance oils from a company that has reformulated them to be free from harmful carcinogens, reproductive toxins, and other potentially hazardous chemicals often found in fragrance. Our scents are 100% phthalate-free and made without ingredients found on the California Prop65 list.

BURN TIME:  16oz large amber jars - 80+ hours burn time, 8oz small amber jars- 40+ hours burn time. The color aura jars hold slightly more wax that the large amber, and have a longer burn time as the jar doesn't get as warm.

*note: 16oz & 8oz amber jars refer to the jar volume - not the wax weight. (8oz amber jars hold 7oz of wax, 16oz amber jars hold 11.75 oz of wax, the color aura jars hold 12oz of wax)

WICKS:

CARE OF COTTON WICK CANDLES
  • TRIM THE WICK TO 1/4" before lighting - and again before relighting. We suggest using a candle wick trimmer (or nail clipper) not a scissors. Trim the black "mushroom" ash from the wick before re-lighting.  If you don't do this the flame will burn too high.
  • BURN IN 2-3HOUR INCREMENTS - Your first burn should last at least an hour so the wax can melt evenly. Don't blow out until the melt pool reaches the edge of the glass. To preserve longevity of the scent in the candle, do not burn longer than 4 hours at a time.
CARE OF WOODEN WICK CANDLES
Wooden Wick candles have a soft crackle sound - enjoy
  • KEEP THE WOODEN WICK SHORT - this is the most important tip we can give you....keep your wick trimmed. Trim the wooden wick before your first burn to 1/4". We suggest using a candle wick trimmer (or nail clipper) not a scissors. Trim the ash from the wood wick again before re-lighting.  If the wick is too long, it cannot absorb the wax and burn properly.
  • BURN IN 2-4 HOUR INCREMENTS - Your first burn should last at least two hours so the wax can melt evenly. Don't blow out until the melt pool reaches the edge of the glass. An uneven wax pool can drown the wick & cause problems lighting it. To preserve longevity of the scent in the candle, do not burn longer than 4 hours at a time.
  • FLAME TOO HIGH - If your flame is too high, blow out the candle, trim the wick to 1/8" and relight. This will give you a safe flame height.
  • STRUGGLES TO STAY LIT -  sometimes you will notice that your wood wick candle may struggle to stay lit - this can be from burning too long, or not trimming the wick short enough. It can also happen with certain scents. If this happens, blow out the candle and blot up some of the melted wax with a small piece of paper towel - trim the wick to (1/4") before relighting. This should burn better the next time.

****We test our candles with the various fragrance a few times a year to be sure your candle is burning properly, however just a slight variation in the batch of wicks can make a difference in the burn. Wooden wicks are a natural product and can vary. If you are having a problem or  have any other questions please contact us. We'd be glad to help.
